Manage install requisitions

There are two types of inventory install requisitions: those created from sold estimates on the Sold Estimate screen and those created from the Project or Requisition screen. You can procure all requisitions from an inventory location or vendor.


Who uses this feature

  • Administrators and office employees

  • Applies to all business types

Feature configuration

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

Things to know

  • If you only have the Purchasing module enabled, the Inventory section in the navigation bar is renamed Purchasing.

  • You need specific employee permissions to use the requisition workflow. Contact your administrator to ensure you have the following permissions enabled:

    • View Requisition: View requisitions.

    • Edit Requisition Demand: Initiate a requisition and fulfillment from an estimate.

    • Edit Requisition Fulfillment: Edit a requisition and procure items.

Procure items from vendors

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Inventory or Purchasing .

  2. In the side menu, click Requisition > Install.

  3. Click the Requisition Name to open the requisition that you want to procure.

    Tip

    • Use premade filters or Search field to find a specific requisition you want.

    • To see all requisitions that have items on hold, select the Only show Requisitions with On Hold items checkbox.

  4. On the requisition record screen that opens, from the Actions dropdown, select Edit.

  5. In the Line Item tab, select the items you want to procure.

  6. From the Job # dropdown, select the job for which the items are used.

  7. From the Procurement Source dropdown, select the vendor where you want to procure the items.

    Tip: Click the Quantity Available to Pick to see more details about the inventory item stock levels.

  8. From the Ship to dropdown, select the location where you want to ship the item.

  9. When finished, click Save and Confirm.

When you confirm that you will procure an item from a vendor, ServiceTitan creates a purchase order (PO) which you can send to your vendor. The POs appear in the Transactions tab in the requisition.

  1. Click the Transactions tab, then click the PO number.

  2. On the PO record screen that opens in a new tab, from the Send As dropdown, select Mark as Sent.

    Note: You can edit item details and add more items on the PO screen by selecting Edit from the Actions dropdown, and the change will be shown on the Requisition > Line Items screen.

    The POs status is set to Sent.

  3. Click Receive to receive the PO.

  4. On the Receive a Shipment screen that opens, enter the vendor number, then click Save.

ServiceTitan creates the recipient with the attached PO and automatically performs the invoice closeout action.

Procure items from an inventory location

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Inventory or Purchasing .

  2. In the side menu, click Requisition > Install.

  3. Click the Requisition Name to open the requisition that you want to procure.

    Note: When you click the Requisition Name under the Demand tab, you can also be redirected to the Estimate screen. This happens when you create and sell an estimate from the Project screen. As it’s not an actual requisition yet, you should decide whether you want to book a job or initiate a requisition. For more, see Initiate requisition for a sold estimate.

  4. On the requisition record screen that opens, from the Actions dropdown, select Edit.

  6. From the Job # dropdown, select the job for which the items are used.

  7. From the Procurement Source dropdown, select the warehouse or truck where you want to procure the items.
    Tip: Click the Quantity Available to Pick to see more details about the inventory item stock levels.

  8. When finished, click Save and Confirm.


When you confirm that you procure an item from a warehouse or transfer, ServiceTitan creates a transfer that you can send to your vendor. The transactions appear in the Transactions tab in the requisition.

  1. Click the Transactions tab, then click the transaction number.

  2. On the transfer record screen that opens, click Mark as Picked.
