Problem
Estimates created in the office may not have a direct way to be closed or linked to an opportunity. This can be confusing if you're trying to manage estimates efficiently.
Solution
For an estimate to be effectively closed or associated with an opportunity, it must first be linked to a job. This process ensures that all estimates are properly tracked and managed within the system.
Closing an estimate not associated with an opportunity
Open the estimate in question.
Click on Back to Call.
Create a new customer or assign one, if there is no customer yet assigned to the estimate
Book a job for the estimate.
Create an opportunity when building an estimate
Go to the location page of the customer you're creating an estimate for.
Click on Book Job to initiate the job booking process.
Select the location for which the job is being booked.
Click on Build Estimate on the calls screen. This action starts the estimate creation process.
Note: You need to have your account configured for The Build Estimate button to appear on the call booking screen.
Ensure that you complete the job creation process. This step is crucial because an estimate needs to be attached to a job to be managed effectively.
Once the job is created, you can then manage the estimate as part of the job workflow, including marking it as closed when necessary.
