Problem

You cannot detach an estimate from a project. Instead, you can dismiss the estimate from the project. You can also export the estimate as a template to easily add it to the correct project.

Solution

If you need to detach an estimate from a project, the only option is to dismiss it. You can then export the dismissed estimate as a template to easily add it to the correct project.

Dismiss estimate from project

  1. Go to the Project Opportunity where the estimate is located.

  2. Find the estimate you want to detach.

  3. Click Dismiss to dismiss the estimate from the opportunity.

  4. Click Delete to remove the estimate from the opportunity.

By doing this, you can dismiss the estimate from the project. You can now export the estimate as a template to easily add it to the correct project.

Export dismissed estimate as a template to add it to another project

  1. Go to the estimate that you dismissed from the project.

  2. Click Actions > Export as template.

  3. Open the exported template and remove the iDs entered in Column A.

Note: If you do not remove these iDs, you will get an error when importing the template back into ServiceTitan.

  4. Save your changes to the template.

  5. Search and open the location record that you want to attach the estimate to.

  6. Click More > Create Project to create a project for that location.

Note: You can also add the estimate to an existing project for the location if your account is configured to do so.

  7. Click Build Estimate to create an estimate.

  8. For the estimate you created, click Actions > Import from Template.

  9. Import the estimate template you exported.

By doing this, you can attach the estimate to the correct project without having to recreate it completely.
