What's new
Until now, the automations running in your account were set up and managed by ServiceTitan on your behalf. To find out what was available, turn something on, change a single setting, or check whether an automation had run at all, you had to contact your account team and wait. The new Automations screen puts that in your hands. You can browse the catalog of ready-made templates, read in plain language what a template does before you commit to it, install it into your account, fill in only the details that need a value, turn it on when you are ready, and then watch its run history to confirm it is working.

1.Decide you want something to happen automatically, such as a follow-up message going out after a job is marked complete.
1.Go to Automations in the navigation bar and browse the catalog of ready-made templates published by ServiceTitan teams.
2.Contact your ServiceTitan account team to ask what is available and request that it be turned on.
2.Open a template to preview its trigger, its conditions, and what it does, written in plain language, before you commit to it.
3.Wait for ServiceTitan to set it up for you.
3.Install the template. It copies into your account switched off, so nothing runs before you are ready.
4.Contact your account team again to change a single detail, such as which business unit it applies to.
4.Fill in only the fields that need a value. Fields that point at your own data, such as business units or roles, are filled from your account rather than typed in by hand.
5.Trust that it is running, because there is no place in ServiceTitan to check.
5.Turn the automation on, then open its run history to see every run with a timestamp, the event that triggered it, and whether it succeeded or failed.
⚠ Every change goes through someone else, so small adjustments take days, and you have no way to confirm an automation ever fired.
✓ You can set up, adjust, and switch off automations yourself in minutes, and you can see for yourself that they are running.
Turn on an automation for insurance queue work so a delayed claim raises its head before a homeowner calls about it.
Point an automation at the crews or business units that handle storm work, selected from your own account data.
Review run history after a storm surge to confirm the automation kept pace with the volume.
How to prepare
01
This feature is currently in Early Access and available for Roofing and Exteriors customers only. Please let your CSM know if you are interested in trying this feature and not a Roofing and Exteriors customer.
02
Review the two permissions that control this feature and decide who in your office should hold each one.
View Automations Page. Lets someone open the Automations screen, browse the catalog, and see run statuses, without changing anything. It is on by default for all roles. People with view access only see a view-only banner and no action buttons.
Manage Automations (Enable/Disable/Configure). Lets someone install a template, fill in its settings, and turn an automation on or off. It is off by default for every role except Owner and Administrator. Nobody can hold this permission without also holding View Automations Page.
03
Identify the repeated office work you would most want handled automatically, such as follow-ups after a job closes or reminders tied to a project status. Bring that list to your first look at the catalog so you can match it against what is available.
04
Agree with your team who will be responsible for reviewing run history. An automation that fails quietly is only useful if somebody is checking.
