What's changing

Before, left navigation showed every area and screen you could reach, so you scrolled past items you rarely use to find the few you need each day. Now the left navigation shows your favorites. Click Go to... at the top of the navigation to open a panel that lists every screen you can access, then type to filter the list. Go to... finds screens only. To find jobs, invoices and other records, use Global Search in the header. Click the star next to a screen to mark it as a favorite and add it to your navigation, or click it again to remove it. Favorite an area, such as Accounting, to add every screen under it. Dashboard and Messages always stay in your navigation.

When your company moves to the new navigation, your favorites start with exactly what you see today, so no screen disappears on day one. New companies start from a default list based on each person's role. To get your starting list back, click Restore Default Favorites at the bottom of the Go to... panel. The navigation also remembers which menus you left open.

For Residential companies, Calls has been renamed to Communications, with Calls, Text Messages and Bookings under it. Commercial companies keep Job Booking. Clicking an area opens that area's own screen when it has one, and Dispatch still opens your Preferred Dispatch Board.

This enhancement starts as a private preview and rolls out to companies in waves.

Residential Service and Replacement
  • CSRs at a heating and cooling company star Communications, Schedule and Dispatch, so those screens are waiting at the start of every shift.
  • A plumbing office manager who runs a membership report each month types its name in Go to... instead of browsing the Reports menu.
  • After the company moves to the new navigation, the office team sees Calls renamed to Communications, with Calls, Text Messages and Bookings under it.
Commercial Service and Replacement
  • A dispatcher at a commercial mechanical contractor keeps Dispatch and Job Booking starred, and Dispatch still opens their Preferred Dispatch Board.
  • An accounting lead stars the Accounting area to add every screen under it in one click.
  • A service manager who opens Pricebook a few times a year finds it with Go to... instead of keeping it in the navigation.
Residential Construction
  • A project coordinator at a remodeling company stars Projects and Schedule to keep jobs and crew dates in view.
  • A purchasing lead stars Inventory and leaves screens they rarely use out of the navigation.
  • A new office hire at a new company starts from the Regular default list, which includes Projects.
Commercial Construction
  • A project manager stars Projects, Accounting and Reports to follow job costs and billing.
  • An office administrator types a screen name in Go to... to reach a screen they use only at month-end close.
  • An owner at a new company starts from the Admin/Owner default list, which includes Command Center and Automations.
Roofing and Exteriors
  • A roofing office manager stars Schedule, Dispatch and Follow Up to track inspections and follow-up calls.

02
Identify the screens each role uses every day, so your team knows what to star first.
03
Tell Residential office teams that Calls becomes Communications, with Calls, Text Messages and Bookings under it.
