This is a new feature that delivers real-time push notifications to technicians using the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App for the Messaging feature. The Messaging feature in the Field Mobile App is currently in Private Preview and has limited availability. If you're interested in testing out this new feature, please reach out to your CSM (through the office).

Notification on a phone screen about applying for a permit from Travis Roland.

What's new?

Before, technicians had no way to receive real-time alerts for @mention messages from the office or other technicians. To stay informed, technicians had to open the Field Mobile App and navigate to the message center manually to check for new activity. Now, the Field Mobile App now delivers instant push notifications to a technician's device. Tapping the notification takes the technician directly to the relevant conversation—no manual navigation required.

  2. The technician instantly receives a push notification on their device.

  3. The technician taps the notification.

  • A service manager replies to a thread on an active job and @mentions the technician to approve a scope change. The assigned technician gets a push notification right away and can confirm receipt before starting the additional work.

  • A technician receives a push notification when a new @mention message arrives in a project conversation while they are between jobs. They tap the notification and respond, keeping the workflow moving without delays.

Commercial Service and Replacement

  • A project coordinator sends an @mention message on a commercial maintenance job to flag a part substitution approved by the client. The lead technician receives a push notification immediately and adjusts the work order before the job begins.

  • An office manager @mentions a technician in a task conversation to confirm a follow-up service appointment. The technician taps the notification and confirms availability without stepping away from the current job.

  • A technician on a multi-technician job receives a push notification when a colleague replies to a shared job conversation and @mentions them, helping the team stay coordinated on large commercial sites.

Residential Construction

  • A foreman sends an updated @mention message in a project conversation about a material delivery delay. The technician receives a push notification and reschedules their workflow, avoiding unnecessary downtime on site.

  • An office employee @mentions a technician in a task to confirm a permit inspection time. The technician taps the push notification and views the conversation directly, confirming the schedule without a phone call.

  • A technician receives a push notification for a @mention thread reply on an active project, keeping all project-related communication visible and organized in one place.

Commercial Construction

  • A project manager sends an @mention message in a commercial construction project conversation to share revised blueprint notes. The field technician receives a push notification and reviews the details before the crew begins the next phase.

  • A site supervisor @mentions a technician in a job conversation to coordinate equipment delivery timing. The technician receives an instant push notification and confirms logistics directly through the Field Mobile App.

  • An office administrator replies to a thread on a construction task and @mentions the technician to update compliance documentation requirements. The technician receives a push notification and accesses the conversation immediately to review the changes.

  4. Train technicians on how to receive and respond to push notifications in the Field Mobile App, and how tapping a notification navigates them directly to the relevant conversation.

  5. Bookmark the messaging section in the ServiceTitan knowledge base for quick reference during rollout.
