This is an improvement that lets you restrict who can view and interact with Estimates based on who created them.
What's changing?
Before, all employees with access to Estimates could view every Estimate, even those created by others. This created visibility issues for teams using competitive or confidential sales strategies. With this improvement, a new permission—Allow Estimates visibility—controls whether an employee can view Estimates made by others. If this permission is turned off, that employee sees only the Estimates they create.
Before and After
Before (Current)
Go to the Estimates page.
Select any estimate.
View, edit, or duplicate any Estimate, regardless of who created it.
All roles with Estimates access have full visibility.
Reporting > Estimates includes all Estimates for everyone with access.
Impact: Confidential sales Estimates are visible to all employees with Estimates access.
Try the current workflow in your account.
After
Go to Settings > Permissions.
Turn off Allow Estimates visibility for selected roles.
Those roles can only see and edit their own Estimates.
Others' Estimates are hidden from their Estimates view.
To hide Estimates in reporting, also restrict access to Reporting.
Impact: Sales teams can now work privately on Estimates without cross-viewing from other reps or contractors.

How it works for your industry
Commercial Service and Replacement
A regional sales rep builds Estimates for a property management contract. Now, only they can view and revise their Estimates.
A service team lead assigns Estimate permissions by role, so each team works with its own deals without conflict.
The reporting team disables Estimate access for field roles to prevent visibility through reporting.
Commercial Construction
A general contractor handles multiple bidding jobs across teams. This setting limits Estimate visibility to reduce internal competition.
Each construction manager controls access so team-specific Estimates are private and organized.
Shared jobs across locations use permission settings to separate Estimate views by assigned team.
How to Prepare?
Have an administrator reach out to Support or your CSM to enable the Estimate Restriction configuration for your account.
Confirm who needs access to others' Estimates and who does not.
Bookmark your team's permission roles from the Settings page.
Identify all users with Reporting access, and restrict it if you want full Estimate visibility control.
Train managers and CSRs on when to enable or disable the new permission.
Align your Estimate workflows with sales goals or confidentiality needs.
