Choose how online estimates appear with the Online estimate non-PDF web view setting

Prev Next

This improvement gives more control over how estimates are shown online by adding a non-PDF web view option.

Online estimates preferences with options for line-item display settings highlighted.

What's changing?

Before, estimates shown in the Customer Portal only used the PDF format. You couldn't choose a web-based format similar to the legacy experience. Now, you can select a non-PDF view in a new Online Estimates section of Settings. You can also control what estimate details are visible to the customer in this view.

Before and After

Before (Current)

  1. Go to Settings > Estimates.

  2. Estimate display defaults to PDF format.

  3. Customers view the PDF when opening an estimate link.

  4. No option to use a web-based estimate view.

Impact: Limited flexibility for displaying estimate details; resistance to CP2 adoption.

Try the current workflow in your account.

After

  1. Go to Settings > Estimates > Online Estimates.

  2. Choose between PDF or Non-PDF view.

  3. Set which estimate details (like line items or pricing) show in the web view.

  4. Customers see estimates in the selected format when opening a link.

Impact: Improves customer experience by matching the legacy CP1 layout, driving higher acceptance of CP2.

Residential Service and Replacement

  • A technician creates an estimate after inspecting a failed water heater. The estimate appears in a clear web format with itemized costs and images.

  • A CSR helps a homeowner choose between two options by showing the non-PDF estimate during a call.

  • When a customer clicks a link from their email, they see the details without downloading a PDF.

Commercial Service and Replacement

  • A property manager views an estimate for HVAC repairs without needing to open a file.

  • A CSR walks through options with a business owner using the line-by-line web view.

  • A technician adds images and descriptions that appear clearly in the web format.

Residential Construction

  • A customer reviewing remodel options sees detailed estimates in-browser, like they did in CP1.

  • A CSR shows room-by-room estimates to a homeowner in real time.

  • The office toggles visibility of optional add-ons depending on what's relevant for the customer.

Commercial Construction

  • A developer opens a project estimate and can scan through scope, pricing, and images in one scrollable view.

  • The office configures estimates to only show total cost and key phases.

  • Field techs confirm what's been quoted before starting work.
