What's new
Before this release, a discount could only be added to one estimate at a time. If you were presenting five options to a homeowner and wanted to offer a single closing discount, you had to open each estimate and add the discount line item by hand, five separate times. On a large property with several structures, that can reach thirty-four separate edits. Pricebook discount values were also fixed at setup, so you could not land on the exact price you agreed to at the kitchen table. Now you can tap Add Discount once in Contract Builder, pick one or more pricebook discounts, choose which estimates receive them, and see each estimate's new total and resulting margin side by side before you confirm. Where your office has allowed it, you can type a custom dollar or percentage amount instead of using the fixed pricebook value.

3.Repeat for each remaining estimate, one at a time.
3.Select one or more pricebook discounts. Where your office has allowed it, enter a custom dollar or percentage amount instead.

⚠ Applying one closing discount takes one edit per estimate, and you only find out you have discounted below your margin floor after the sale.
✓ One action replaces one edit per estimate, and each estimate's new total and resulting margin appear before you commit, so a discount that would drop an estimate below your margin floor is flagged first.
A roofing sales representative presents good, better, and best options for a full roof replacement. The homeowner agrees to move forward at a round number. The representative taps Add Discount, enters a custom amount that brings the purchase price to that number, and signs the contract on the spot.
An exteriors representative builds one contract covering roofing, siding, and gutters on the same home. A single seasonal promotion applies to all three estimates in one action instead of three separate edits.
A representative working a multi-structure property has more than thirty estimates on one contract. A single percentage discount applies across every estimate, and any estimate that would fall below the margin floor is flagged before the discount is confirmed.
How to prepare
01
Have an administrator reach out to Support or your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to have Contract Builder and any prerequisite configurations enabled. Contract Builder is currently in Early Access and not available for all accounts.
02
Confirm the roles who build contracts have the View/Edit Contracts permission. This is an existing permission, available in both Employee and Technician profiles. There are no new or changed permissions in this release.
03
Review your discount items in Pricebook, under Discounts and Fees. For each item, decide whether it may be applied only once per estimate, and whether a representative may enter a custom amount up to a maximum you set.
04
Set your margin floor in Settings, under Estimates, on the Estimate Revenue Protection screen. Contracts Discounts checks each estimate against this floor.
