Act on follow-up opportunities with fewer steps and fewer missed sales in the Field Mobile App

This improvement to the opportunities workflow in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App reduces friction when technicians follow up on unsold estimates, view attachments, complete forms, and confirm sold estimates.

What's changing?

Previously, technicians managing follow-up opportunities in the Field Mobile App faced several friction points. Filters reset every time you exited the Opportunities screen. Forms appear in the list, but there was no way for the users to open the form. There was no way to see PDFs attached to an opportunity. Marking an estimate as sold required a single tap with no confirmation, which led to accidental sales. After completing a job with unsold estimates, there was no prompt to set a follow-up reminder. Users could not add opportunities to the custom navigation bar, and there was no badge to show when reminders were due.

Now, filter selections persist within your session so you do not have to reconfigure them each time. Forms appear directly in the opportunity, and you can open and complete them. PDFs attached to an opportunity are accessible from the details screen. A confirmation dialog appears before marking an estimate as sold to prevent accidental taps. When you complete a job with unsold estimates, a prompt informs you to follow-up on them later. You can add Opportunities to the custom navigation bar and see a blue dot on the Opportunities tile when reminders are due.

Resources

Before and after

Before (current)

  1. Complete a job in the Field Mobile App that has unsold estimates.

  2. Follow up is created automatically in the backend without the ability for users to manually update the date.

  3. Open the Opportunities screen later. Your previous filter selections have reset, so you reconfigure them.

  4. Open an opportunity to review it. You cannot see attached PDFs, and forms are not available to be viewed from this screen.

  5. Tap to mark an estimate as sold. The action happens immediately with no confirmation.

Impact: The lack of customizable follow up date and reminders and the extra steps to reconfigure filters mean technicians miss follow-up opportunities and may accidentally mark estimates as sold.

After

  1. Complete a job in the Field Mobile App that has unsold estimates. A dialog prompts you to follow up later and users can customize follow-up date.

  2. Open the Opportunities screen later. Your filter selections from the current session are still in place.

  3. Open an opportunity. You can see attached PDFs, and forms are listed too.

  4. Tap to mark an estimate as sold. A confirmation dialog asks you to verify before the action completes.

Impact: Technicians capture more follow-up opportunities, reduce accidental estimate sales, and spend less time reconfiguring their view or switching between screens.

How it works for your industry

Residential Service and Replacement

  • A technician finishes an HVAC tune-up and leaves an unsold estimate for a compressor replacement. After completing the job, a dialog prompts the technician to follow-up later.

  • A plumbing technician reviews an opportunity and needs to check the PDF quote the office attached. The technician opens the opportunity and views the PDF directly.

  • A technician reviewing follow-up opportunities filters the list to show only Not Attempted items. After stepping away and returning to the screen, the filter is still applied, so the technician picks up right where they left off.

Residential Construction

  • A roofing crew lead completes a job with an unsold add-on estimate for gutter installation. The Field Mobile App prompts the lead to set a reminder so the sales team can follow up before the next visit.

  • A general contractor reviews an opportunity tied to a bathroom remodel. The office uploaded a revised estimate as a PDF attachment to the opportunity. The contractor opens the opportunity and reviews the PDF without needing to call back to the office.

  • A technician on a multi-phase project accidentally tapped Sold on an estimate in the past. Now, a confirmation dialog appears first, so the technician can cancel if it was a mistake.

How to prepare?

  1. Review your team's current follow-up process for unsold estimates. Identify whether technicians are already setting reminders or relying on office staff to track opportunities.

  2. Technicians can add opportunities to their custom navigation bar through the Customize Navigation screen for quicker access.

  3. Brief your technicians on the new confirmation dialog for sold estimates and the follow-up reminder prompt that appears after completing a job with unsold estimates.

  4. Bookmark any knowledge base articles for team training.
