Problem

You can't deactivate a vendor, and when attempting to add information to another vendor, you receive the following error message: Action canceled - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Solution

To deactivate a vendor:

  1. Go to the Inventory section in ServiceTitan.

  2. Click the Vendors tab.

  3. Find the vendor you wish to deactivate and add an extra character to their name.

  4. Click the Deactivate button.

To edit a vendor:

  1. Go to the Inventory section in ServiceTitan.

  2. Click the Vendors tab.

  3. Find the vendor you wish to edit, and add an extra character to their name.

  4. Click the Save button.

  5. After the property is saved, go back to the edit mode for the vendor and remove the extra character that you've added to the vendor name.

Note: If you receive the Action canceled - Object reference not set to an instance of an object error message when attempting to add information to a vendor, try adding an extra character to their name and saving the information. Then, go back and remove the extra character from the vendor name.
