Overview

Tap annotation links in messages to open the referenced file immediately. When reviewing an RFI, tap View on drawing to go directly to the file. This eliminates the need to search through project folders or call the office to find the right document.

Things to know

  • This feature requires Project Documents, Messages, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to be enabled for your account.

  • This feature works with push notifications. If you receive a push notification for an annotation @mention, tapping it opens the Field Mobile App and takes you directly to the annotation file. Account configuration is required to receive push notifications. Please contact your office for details.

  • An active internet connection is required to use this feature. Document annotations don't load offline.

Best practices

  • Make sure your account is configured for push notifications and that you've enabled push notifications for the Field Mobile App in your device settings. This way, you receive alerts immediately when someone @mentions you.

  • Before tapping a link to a document annotation, save any work in progress. The Field Mobile App closes the current screen to open the project document.

Use cases

  • A project manager tags you in an annotation on a floor plan to flag an issue. You tap the link in Message and the Field Mobile App takes you directly to the annotated document so you can review the issue on site.

  • While reviewing an RFI task in the Field Mobile App, you need to see the annotation where the RFI pin was placed. Tap View on drawing to open the file and view the annotation in context.
