Problem
You added a membership sale task to an invoice, but that did not activate a membership as it should have.
Solution
Correct the workflow for membership activation
Go to Pricebook.
Search the service task that should activate the membership.
In the workflow tab, make sure to select Create and activate membership plan.
Save the changes.
If the invoice has not been exported
Go to the invoice where the membership sale task is added.
Delete the incorrectly set up task.
Add the task again to trigger the membership activation.
If the invoice has been exported
Because the invoice was already exported to your accounting software, you need to zero out the invoice with the inaccurate membership sale task:
Create an adjustment invoice.
Add a dummy service task which does not have a workflow enabled in Pricebook. Make sure the quantity set is negative. This will zero out the invoice.
Unapply the payment so you can apply it to the right invoice afterward.
Sell a membership to the customer:
Go to the customer's page.
Select Sell Membership.
Choose the correct membership sale task to apply without creating a new job.
You can now apply the unapplied payment to this invoice.
