What permissions do I need to give my office staff to allow them to clock in/out without seeing other employees' payroll details?

Problem

You want your staff to clock in and out. You don't want them to see each other's payroll details.

Solution

Update employee permissions

  1. Go to Settings in the main navigation bar.

  2. In the side panel, go to People > Employees.

  3. Click Edit next to the employee whose permissions you want to update.

  4. Click the Permissions tab.

  5. In the Payroll & Admin section, update the following permissions:        

    1. Remove the Can access global payroll settings permission. This permission allows the employee to see the Payroll Settings screen at Settings > People > Payroll.

    2. Remove the View payroll approval dashboard permission. This permission allows the employee to see the Payroll Dashboard, which includes other employees' payroll details.

    3. Select the View employee time tracking and edit page permission. This permission allows the employee to clock in and out.

  6. When you're finished, click Save Changes.

Now, your office staff can clock in and out. They can't see other employees' payroll details.
