Overview

You can set the Field Mobile App to show terminology that applies to your specific business type: Residential or Commercial. This allows you to navigate the app using the terms you're most familiar with.

Feature configuration

Set the business type you want to see terminology for in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open the Field Mobile App and tap Menu A simple icon in the shape of four squares that form a larger square. at the bottom of the screen.

  2. On the Menu screen that opens, scroll to the Settings section and tap the Business Type you want to see terminology for: Residential  or Commercial .

  3. A pop-up appears asking you to relaunch the app. Tap Ok then close and reopen the Field Mobile App to see the terminology changes. Settings menu displaying a prompt to relaunch the app with an OK button.

Compare Residential and Commercial Terms in the Field Mobile App

After you change the business type you want to see terminology for, some naming conventions will change as you browse the Field Mobile App. See the lists below to compare Residential and Commercial navigation terms in the Field Mobile App.

  • Location Info (Residential) or Jobsite Details (Commercial)        

    Note: The View location record permission is required to see all details on this tab in the Field Mobile App. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

  • Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial)

  • Invoice (Residential) or Work Summary (Commercial)

Job tab section names

  • Job Summary (Residential) or Work Order Details (Commercial)

Invoice or Work Summary tab section names

  • Invoice Items (Residential) or Line Items (Commercial)

  • Invoice Summary (Residential) or Work Order Summary (Commercial)

  • Share Invoice (Residential) or Share Work Summary (Commercial)

  • Add > Invoice Item (Residential) or Add > Line Item (Commercial)

Coming soon to Field Mobile App Release 19.0: If your terminology is set to Commercial, the service location name is shown instead of the customer name on job cards on the Home screen.
