Problem
When you try to edit one of your custom fields on a project, you might see an error. The error message is "Action cancelled The Bill To cannot be edited because one or more payments have been applied to multiple invoices."
Solution
Use the Additional Information section
To fix this issue, edit the custom field from the Additional Information section instead of the Edit Project screen.
Find and open the project.
Go to the Project Details section.
Find your custom field under Additional Information.
Click the custom field and make your changes.
Click the blue checkmark to confirm your changes.

By following these steps, you can edit the custom field without getting the error message.
