What to do if Pricebook categories don't appear in ServiceTitan Mobile?

Problem

If a Pricebook Category isn't appearing in ServiceTitan Mobile for your technicians, follow the steps below or in the next sections to determine what is causing this behavior.

Solution

Check Pricebook settings to:

Determine if the Category is hidden

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.

  2. In the side panel, click CategoriesCategories section in Pricebook for managing services and equipment listings.

  3. Locate the Category that should appear on mobile and confirm if the Category has a checkmark under the Hide In Mobile column. Manage service categories including membership and visibility options for mobile display.

  4. Click this checkmark to make it disappear.

  5. This Category is now available in ServiceTitan Mobile. To ensure this change is received by the Technicians' ServiceTitan Mobile, have the Technician either log out of ServiceTitan Mobile and then log back in, or have the Technician click the circular arrow icon on the upper right-hand corner of ServiceTitan Mobile and click Download Pricebook to have this Pricebook change pushed to their ServiceTitan Mobile. Dashboard overview showing sales metrics and user details for Adam. Dashboard overview showing sales metrics and options for downloading the pricebook.

Determine if there is a Business Unit conflict

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.

  2. In the side panel, click Categories.

  3. Locate the Category that should appear on mobile and confirm if the Category has a Business Unit listed under the Business Units column. Categories for services and equipment, highlighting plumbing service and membership options.

  4. If a Business Unit is listed, confirm the name of the Technician reporting they are unable to see this Category, then go to Settings > People >Technicians.        

    Note: If the technician's Business Unit and the job's Business Unit are not the same, then the technician can't see that job.

  5. Locate the profile of the Technician unable to see this Pricbook Category and look at their Business Unit field to confirm if it matches the Business Unit assigned to the Pricebook Category. List of technicians with their business units and contact information displayed in a table.

  6. If the Business Unit of the Technician does not match the Business Unit of the Pricebook Category, go back to Pricebook and click Categories, locate the Pricebook Pro Category the Technician is unable to see, click the Business Unit section next to the Category, and uncheck the checkmark next to the Business Unit to remove it. User selects HVAC Install from a dropdown menu in a service management interface.

  7. Click the blue checkmark box to confirm this change, officially removing the Business Unit from this Category. To ensure this change is received by the Technicians' ServiceTitan Mobile, have the Technician either log out of ServiceTitan Mobile and then log back in, or have the Technician click the circular arrow icon on the upper right-hand corner of ServiceTitan Mobile and click Download Pricebook to have this Pricebook change pushed to their ServiceTitan Mobile.

Determine if the Category is inactive

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.

  2. In the side panel, click Categories.

  3. Click the Filters button.

  4. In the Filters section, under the Status section, click Inactive, and then click Apply. User applies filters to manage service categories and their statuses in the interface.

  5. On the next page, locate the Category that is not appearing in ServiceTitan Mobile, hover your mouse over the Category, and then click the power button, which will reactivate the Category.        

    Tip: If the further subcategory you are trying to activate exists inside a deactivated subcategory, you need to activate the subcategory first before the power button will appear for the desired subcategory.

     Manage categories for services and equipment, including adding new categories.    

  6. To ensure this change is received by the Technicians' ServiceTitan Mobile, have the technicians either log out of ServiceTitan Mobile and then log back in or have them click the circular arrow icon on the upper right-hand corner of ServiceTitan Mobile and click Download Pricebook to have this Pricebook change pushed to their ServiceTitan Mobile.

Determine if the technician is assigned to a Business Unit

  1. Go to Settings > People > Technicians.

  2. Select a technician and click Edit.

  3. On the technician Profile tab, check if the technician is assigned a business unit.        

    Tip: If you have a selected business unit, technicians won't see categories assigned to the business unit.

         

You can also determine if the technician is assigned a pricebook category.

  1. Go to Settings > People > Technicians.

  2. Select a technician and click Edit.

  3. In the ServiceTitan Mobile Access section, enable the mobile view.

  4. Check if a Pricebook category is selected.        

    Tip: If a category is selected, the technician will only see that category in mobile. If no category is selected, the technician can see all categories.
