Import and Export document templates with Template Manager

Overview

You can download and upload document templates with the Template Manager. This lets you transfer test templates from the Next environment to your main account or use the same templates across multiple business accounts.


Who uses this feature

  • Administrators, office employees, managers, accountants, and bookkeepers

  • Applies to all business types

  • Applies to all trades

Feature configuration

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

Things to know

  • If the template has a PDF Header and a PDF Footer, you must import the Header and Footer separately and then re-associate them with the template using the template editor.

  • When importing a template, you have the option to select a Template type that differs from the original. Be aware that different templates may include distinct components, and the system can trigger a warning message if the chosen template is missing components used in the original.

  • The system saves the imported template as a draft.

Export a template

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings .

  2. In the side panel, click Operations > Document Templates.

  3. Search for the template you want to export and click More   .

  4. Click Export .

  5. In the Export Template window that opens, select the necessary options and click Export to download the template.

Import a template

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings .

  2. In the side panel, click Operations > Document Templates.

  3. Click Create Template > Import .

  4. In the Import template window that opens, click Upload file and choose a file from your computer.

  5. Enter the Template Name.

  6. From the Template type dropdown, select the template type you’d like to use.

  7. Click Import to upload the template to the system.
