Problem
You need to give a technician access to a Dialpad account.
Solution
You can assign a technician seat from Settings > Phones Pro > Account Setup. However, using this setup is not recommended as technician seats have limitations.
We recommend setting up technicians with a standard seat, as this removes some limitations. See Understand standard and advanced seats for more.
Assign Phones Pro seats to employees
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.In the side panel, go to Phones Pro > Account Setup.
Under Employee Seats, for the employee you want to assign a seat, select the account type you want to assign: Standard, Advanced or Tech.
Technician seats don't support sending or receiving any SMS messages, including messages from the dispatch board or job details.
Note: If a technician needs a Phones Pro, we recommend they create an office profile and add it as a standard seat. This way, they can make outbound calls directly from the Dialpad mobile app and be included in call routing, while still receiving notifications through their original technician number.
