GL account of equipment in Pricebook not updating on invoice

Problem

Changes to the GL account of equipment in the pricebook do not apply to installed equipment on invoices.

Solution

If the equipment is already installed, you will need to remove the installed equipment, re-add back into the estimate then add the equipment into the existing job.

GL account of equipment in Pricebook not updating on invoice

  1. Search for and go to the invoice where the equipment is listed.

  2. Find the equipment item you need to change. Look for the item code.

  3. Delete the equipment from the invoice. A message will pop up.

  4. When asked Will work be performed on another job? click Yes. This sends the equipment back to the estimate.

  5. Search for and go to the estimate where the equipment was originally added.

  6. Find the equipment you just sent back to the estimate.

  7. Select the equipment. Make sure it's the correct item code.

  8. Choose to book the equipment into an existing job.

  9. Select the same job the equipment was originally booked for.

  10. Book the equipment into the job again. Now, the GL account change should apply.
