Overview
After you create an estimates and attach it to a job, you can make the material chargeable or non-chargeable to define chargeable materials as taxable, just like services, equipment, and other direct costs. This helps you avoid inaccurately charging the customer when you add materials to an estimate.

Feature configuration
Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.
The View estimate and Edit estimate permissions are required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.
Define chargeable materials
There are two options to enable chargeable materials:
Option 1: From the Materials sub-section
Option 2: From the edit item page
Option 1: In the Material sub-section, turn on the Taxable toggle.

Option 2:
Select a material item and click More
.Click Edit the item.

In the View / Edit Material Details window that opens, enable the Taxable toggle.
Use Other Direct Costs feature in Pricebook, to add non-material costs as estimate items.
Template Pricebook Items
Enable Template Pricebook Item to add template pricebook items to an estimate or invoice items so your employees can easily find the pricebook item they need during a job.
Add template pricebook items to an estimate or invoice items and edit the price and description of one Template Pricebook item to reflect the non-pricebook item for each service, equipment, material, and other direct costs regardless of permission to complete the job.
Go to Settings
.Select Operations > Template Pricebook items.
Click Enable Template Pricebook Items.
Note: When added to an estimate or invoice, the price and description fields of the item will be editable by all office employees.
