Will enabling the Create QB Customer Jobs configuration lead to a job costing in QuickBooks?
No. ServiceTitan does not send job costing to QuickBooks. If you want to reference job costing, you should do that in ServiceTitan.
Why are my list and data files so large?
If you enable the configuration, list items and data file sizes will increase. This is because we only map to the Bill To customer. That means every service location we send over will be a new job in QuickBooks Desktop. To consolidate your list, you need to update QuickBooks.
For more information on lists, see the QuickBooks article, Maximum number of list entries (list limits and custom fields) [EXTERNAL].
Can I use the Create QB Customer Jobs configuration for QuickBooks Online?
No. At this time you can only use the configuration in QuickBooks Desktop.
Can I delete jobs in QuickBooks?
Yes. You can delete jobs in QuickBooks but only after you have reassigned the invoice so it is not tied to a job. You should manually move all transactions to the main level customer in QuickBooks. If you try to delete a job after the invoice has been exported to it, a message will appear: QuickBooks cannot delete this name because it has a balance or is used in at least one transaction.
Examples of transactions include invoices, payments, journal entries, and credit memos.
If you notice that your invoice balances do not match, for example, a $0 balance in ServiceTitan but a credit balance in QuickBooks, you can check to see whether the invoice task exists in QuickBooks after making sure it was successfully exported from ServiceTitan. In some cases, you may need to delete a task in QuickBooks to make sure the invoice balances match.
To delete a job or task in QuickBooks:
On the project request panel, select the task you want to delete.
Select Remove.
Select Remove task to confirm.
Select Save.
How do I delete a payment from QuickBooks after it has been exported?
To delete the exported payment from QuickBooks:
Go to the Lists menu and select Chart of Accounts.
In the Chart of Accounts section, double-click Undeposited Funds to open the register.
Click the deposit you want to delete from the Register.
Go to the Edit menu and click Delete Payment.
