Things to know
Beginning balances represent the initial physical quantities of items at the start of the inventory module's implementation. Beginning balances are created through inventory adjustments.
You can create beginning balances in ServiceTitan through the inventory adjustments Excel templates. For more, see the Create bulk adjustments section in Adjustments overview.
You can complete beginning inventory counts in the Inventory mobile app. This feature helps you efficiently record accurate inventory balances in the Inventory mobile app. For more, see Manage counts in the inventory mobile.
Create a beginning inventory count
To create a beginning balance using the inventory counts:
Note: The result of a physical inventory count is still an inventory adjustment. It is recommended to know and understand how Adjustments overview work.
Go to the navigation bar and click Inventory
.In the side menu, click Inventory Counts.
On the Inventory Counts screen that opens, click Create New.
On the Select Count Type screen that opens, click Beginning Inventory Count, then click Next.
The Create Beginning Inventory Count screen opens.In the Due Date field, select the date by which you or your employees should complete the count.

(Optional) From the Assigned Employee dropdown, select one or more employees who will perform the inventory count.
Select one or more inventory locations where you want to complete the count.
Note: If you select more than one location, ServiceTitan creates a separate inventory count list for each location.
Tip: To select all inventory locations that are listed on the screen, select the checkbox at the top of the list next to the Inventory Location heading.
Tip: To view more than 10 items on the screen, go to the bottom of the item list and select a number from the items per page dropdown.

When finished, click Create Count.

All beginning inventory counts are considered pending and appear in the Pending tab:
