Overview
Daily Log Print templates let you choose which sections appear when you download a daily log as a PDF. You can create a separate template for each audience, such as a general contractor, an owner, or your internal team. Each audience then gets only the information it needs.

Things to know
After a template is saved and published, you can rename it, but you can't change its template type.
Several components let you choose whether the PDF shows the foreman's original entry or the AI version. The AI version is the default.
Only published templates are available to use. Templates saved as drafts don't appear when you download a PDF.
Best practices
Before you build templates, list who receives your daily log PDFs and what each audience needs to see.
Give each template a name that identifies its audience. Your team sees these names in the Choose PDF Template window.
Leave the Worked Log (timesheets) component out of templates you share outside your company if you don't want external parties to see labor hours.
Train project managers and office staff to select the right template when they download a daily log PDF.
Use cases
A general contractor wants daily logs without labor hours. The project manager downloads the PDF with a template that leaves out the Worked Log section.
A residential builder keeps two templates: a full one for internal records, and one for homeowners that leaves out timesheet and equipment details.
A subcontractor reports to the general contractor with a template that includes only the Materials, Safety, and Notes sections.
An office creates separate templates for project managers, the owner, and the general contractor, so no one has to edit the PDF by hand.
Step 1: Create a Daily Log Print template
Go to the top toolbar and click Settings.
In the side panel, go to Operations > Document Templates.
Click Create Template > New Template.

For Template name, enter a name that identifies the audience for this template.
From the Template type dropdown, select Daily Log.
Click Confirm.

In the Template Details section, set the PDF Header, PDF Footer, Paper size, Page margin, and Orientation as needed.
Note: For details about template headers, footers, and design options, see Create a new document template with Template Manager.
Step 2: Add Daily Log components to the template
In the side menu, click Content. A list of the components available for the Daily Log Print template type opens.
Drag and drop each component you want to include into a content block on the template.
Note: Components you leave off the template don't appear in the PDF. For example, leave off Worked Log (Timesheets) to keep labor hours out of the PDF.

In addition to some standard components, like Columns, Page Break, and so on, the Daily Log Print template type includes the following components:
Component | Can show raw input or AI version | Heading shown by default |
|---|---|---|
Daily Log Date | No | No |
Daily Log Equipment | Yes (default is AI) | Yes |
Daily Log Health | No | Yes |
Daily Log Issues | Yes (default is AI) | Yes |

Choose the foreman's original entry or the AI version
For certain components, you can choose what the PDF shows:
Select the component on the template. A list of options opens in the side menu.
Choose whether the component displays the AI Summary version, or the foreman's original Raw Input Field Report entry.

Tip: To change a component's labels or hide part of its content, select the component and use Edit or Hide in the side menu. For more, see Create a new document template with Template Manager.

Step 3: Save and publish the template
When you're finished designing your template, you can:
Click Save and Preview to review your changes in the editor before publishing.
Click Save Draft to save your progress and come back later. Draft templates aren't available when you download a daily log PDF.
Click Save and Publish to save the template and make it available right away.
Download a daily log PDF with a template
Search for and open the project.
In the side panel, click Daily Logs and select the log you want.
Go to the Generated Log tab.
Click Download PDF.
If more than one Daily Log Print template exists, select the template you want from the Choose PDF Template window. The PDF is generated with the template you selected.
Note: If only one Daily Log template exists, the PDF downloads immediately without the window.
