Convert a lead to a job

Overview

After you’ve captured a lead, followed up on it, and determined the customer is ready to book a job, you’re ready to convert it. Before you begin this process, make sure a customer and location record are created so you can book the job.

Feature configurations

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

Things to know

  • If you cancel a job that has been booked through a lead, make sure to change that lead's status back to Open, if applicable. Canceling a job that has been booked through a lead doesn’t automatically change that lead's status back to Open.

  • Dismissed leads can be manually converted back to Open status by going to Search > Lead. After you open the dismissed lead, click Restore Lead.

Best practices

  • To prevent leads that have actually been converted to a job from remaining open, be sure to book the related job through the lead record.

  • While it’s not required to capture leads, we recommend that you set recall, warranty, and lead job booking guides so you’re prepared for different workflows.

    2. If the lead was not attached to a customer or location record, any details captured in the Call Summary section of the lead will automatically populate. If you haven’t yet created a customer and location record, do so now.

  5. Finish booking the job

Note: When you book the job, make sure to use the Customer tab (not the Lead tab) in the Search for customer section on the Calls screen. You can’t book a job from the Leads tab.

After you convert a lead to a job, the lead disappears from the Follow Up screen. To view converted leads, go to Search > Lead
