What you're seeing
When you try to close out a job, this error appears and the job won't close:
Please note one or more items on the invoice do not have an inventory location assigned and/or will fall below Quantity Available at the chosen inventory location. Please make necessary updates by clicking here.
The job stays open until you resolve it.
Why this happens
Reason 1
Closeout runs an inventory check on the items on the job's invoice.
Before a job can close, ServiceTitan checks the inventory items on the job's invoice. Closeout is blocked when one or more of those items either don't have an inventory location assigned, or would fall below the Quantity Available at the chosen inventory location. You need to assign a location and make sure there's enough quantity before the job will close.
How to fix it
1Assign a location and quantity, then close the job again
In the error message, click the underlined here link. A window opens showing the items that need updates.
For each flagged item, assign an inventory location and, if needed, adjust the quantity so it doesn't fall below the Quantity Available at that location.
Save the changes and close out of the invoice.
Try to close out the job again.
✓ Done · The error clears and the job closes out.
Caution: If an item would fall below Quantity Available because there genuinely isn't enough stock at the location, assigning a location alone won't resolve the shortage. Receive or transfer the needed inventory to the location first, then repeat the steps above.
