Why can't I put a task from an estimate into an existing job when both jobs are in the same project?

You have a task on an estimate that you want to put into an existing job. Both the estimate and the job are part of the same project. The issue arises because the sold by information does not match between the estimate and the job.

Solution

By ensuring the sold by information matches between the estimate and the job, you can successfully add a task from an estimate to an existing job within the same project.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Go to the estimate page.

  2. Click the edit next to the calculate button.

  3. Scroll down to find the sold by field.

  4. Change the sold by to match the sold by on the job you want to add the task to.

  5. If the original technician who sold the estimate is different, you may need to temporarily change the sold by on the job to match the estimate, add the task, and then change the sold by back to the original technician.
