Overview
Learn how to add Polycom x50 (OBI Edition) and Yealink T3, T4, or T5 series desk phones to Dialpad. These desk phones are included in the list of recommended devices for Phones Pro and offer optimal performance with Dialpad.
Adding a new phone may vary depending on whether you got it from Dialpad or purchased it from a third party. If you purchased the desk phone from Dialpad, it is ready to activate with Dialpad right away. If you purchased the phone elsewhere, you can still use it with Dialpad, but you might need to take extra steps to set it up.

Things to know
Before getting started, ensure the phone is plugged into the network with an ethernet-wired connection and not Wi-Fi.
The computer must be on the same network as the phone.
Ensure your device is listed among the recommended hardware for Phones Pro and the firmware is up to date before you try to connect the desk phone.
If the phone was previously used with another service provider before configuring it to Dialpad, you must factory reset and provision it to clear out any conflicting settings or data.
You can assign a desk phone to one individual only. If the phone is assigned to a different person, remove it and reassign it to the correct employee account.
Add a Polycom x50 Series (OBi Edition) desk phone
To add a Polycom x50 Series desk phone bought from Dialpad:
In Dialpad, go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Add a user phone.

On the Add a desk phone screen that opens, select Polycom x50 Series (OBI Edition).
In the Enter a new name for your phone field, enter the name of your desk phone.
From the Who is this phone for dropdown, select the employee account.
Note: The phone will automatically detect your internet connection and begin updating.
Select if the device screen displays Dialpad Activate or not and click Next.

Grab the desk phone, dial the activation code displayed on your screen, and hang up. After entering the code, you should receive a confirmation message that the phone is ready and linked to the account.
Click Done.
Add a Polycom desk phone purchased from a third party
In Dialpad, go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Add a user phone.
On the Add a desk phone screen that opens, select the compatible desk phone.
Name the desk phone, assign it to a user, and click Next.
Select The device screen does not display "Dialpad Activate" and click Next.
Provision your desk phone to complete the setup.
Provision Polycom UCS device to Dialpad
Get the IP address for your device. On the phone, press Menu > Status > Network. The IPv4 address of the phone is displayed in the first row.
Factory reset the device.
In a web browser, type https:// and enter the IP address of your device.
In the Login As section, select Admin.
In the Password field, enter 456 or 789.

Go to Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Global Settings.
Click Restore.

Provision the server.
In the Polycom web browser, go to Settings > Provisioning Server.
From the Server Type dropdown, select Https.
Remove Server User and Server Password information.
From the Boot Server dropdown, select Static.
When finished, click Save.

After provisioning, the phone reboots. Once complete, it displays Dialpad Activate. You can go to your Dialpad account and select Other Polycom Phones when adding a user phone.
Add a Yealink T3, T4, or T5 Series Desk Phone
In Dialpad, go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Add a user phone.
The Add a desk phone screen opens.Select Yealink Phone.

In the Enter a new name for your phone field, enter the name of your desk phone.
From the Who is this phone for dropdown, select the employee account you want to assign the phone to.
Select if the device screen displays Dialpad Activate or not and click Next.
Grab the desk phone, dial the activation code displayed on your screen, and hang up. After entering the code, you should receive a confirmation message that the phone is ready and linked to the account.
Click Done.
Add a Yealink desk phone purchased from a third-party
In Dialpad, go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Add a user phone.
The Add a desk phone screen opens.Select the compatible desk phone.
Name the desk phone, assign it to a user, and click Next.
Select The device screen does NOT display "Dialpad Activate" and click Next.
Provision your desk phone to complete the setup.
Provision Yealink device to Dialpad
Get the IP address for your device. On the phone, press Menu > Status. The IPv4 address of the phone is displayed in the first row.
Factory reset the device.
In a web browser, type https:// and enter the IP address of your device.
Enter admin for Username and Password.
Note: If the phone was previously registered to Dialpad, the admin password will be 094362581.
After you're logged in, click Settings > Upgrade.
Click Reset to Factory Settings, then click Ok. Wait for the device to reboot.

Provision the server.
In the Yealink web browser, go to Settings > Auto Provision.
In the Server URL field, enter https://prov.dialpad.com.
Click Confirm, then Auto Provision Now.

After provisioning, the phone reboots. Once complete, it displays Dialpad Activate.
Manage desk phones
Manage desk phone settings to customize line keys, reboot devices, or remove phones from your system.
Configure a desk phone
Setting up Line Keys provides a way to link buttons on your desk phone to different calling features, like speed dial and shared lines.
Go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Options > Configure Deskphone next to the desk phone that you want to edit.
Assign your lines as needed.

When finished, click Update Device.
Note: You can also reset the device key layout to the default settings.
Reboot a desk phone
Go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Options > Reboot.
A pop-up window opens asking if you want to reboot the device. Click Ok.

Remove a desk phone
Go to Admin Settings
> Office > Desk Phones.Select the User Phones tab.
Click Options > Remove.
A pop-up window opens asking if you want to remove the device. Click Ok.
Manage employee permissions
Administrators usually set up their employees' desk phones, but you can also let team members do it themselves.
To allow employees to set up their phones:
Go to Admin Settings
> Office > Office Settings.Under Office-wide settings, find the Desk Phone section.
Select Allow team members to self-provision deskphones.
Select Guest login as needed.
