What you're seeing
When you try to email an invoice, an application error appears in ServiceTitan and the email doesn't send (the email dialog may fail to load).
Why this happens
There are 3 common reasons. The first two are the most common.
Reason 1
A corrupted file is attached to the job.
A corrupted file attached to the job blocks the email. This is the most common cause.
Reason 2
The customer's delivery preference isn't set to email.
If the customer isn't set to receive invoices by email, the email can fail.
Reason 3
A browser issue on your end.
A stale browser cache can cause the error. If clearing the cache doesn't help, a browser-specific problem may be blocking the email dialog from loading.
How to fix it
Try each check in order until the invoice emails successfully.
1Remove corrupted file attachments
This is the most common cause: a corrupted file attached to the job blocks the email.
Go to the job associated with the invoice.
Click into the customer profile and open the Attachments section (bottom left). Look for any corrupted files.
If you find corrupted files, click the trash can icon to the right of the attachment to delete them.
Try to email the invoice again.
✓ Done · With the corrupted attachment removed, the invoice emails successfully.
2Confirm the customer's email delivery preference
If the customer isn't set to receive invoices by email, the email can fail.
Go to the customer profile.
Click the edit icon next to their name.
Scroll to the Invoice and Statement Delivery section.
If it isn't already checked, check the box next to Email.
Click Save.
Try to email the invoice again.
✓ Done · With email delivery enabled, the invoice emails successfully.
3Clear your browser cache
A stale browser cache can cause the error.
Clear your browser cache:
Google Chrome: Go to Chrome > More > More tools > Clear browsing data, then select the top four checkboxes. This won't delete your saved passwords.
Safari (Mac): Open Safari, go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy, click Manage Website Data, then select the sites to clear — or click Remove All to clear everything.
Log out of ServiceTitan and log back in.
✓ Done · After clearing the cache and logging back in, the invoice emails successfully.
4Try incognito or private browsing
If clearing the cache didn't help, open a private window and try again.
Open a private browsing window:
Google Chrome: Click More > New Incognito window, or press Ctrl + Shift + N.
Safari (Mac): Go to File > New Private Window, or press Shift + Command + N.
Try to email the invoice again.
✓ Done · The invoice emails successfully from the private window.
Still not working?
If none of the checks work, the issue may be a temporary system incident. Check the ServiceTitan status page [VERIFY — add URL], then contact ServiceTitan Technical Support at go.servicetitan.com/ask with:
The invoice number and the customer name
The exact error message, and whether the email dialog loads at all
Which checks you've already tried
Whether other invoices email successfully (or it's just this one)
