Use Marketing Activity Segment

Overview

Create retention segments by using customers' marketing activity attributes. This attribute helps you create a filter based on all the activities the customers have done with email and direct mail campaigns.


Who uses this feature

  • Marketing managers, business owners, and other marketers on your team

  • Primarily for Commercial Service & Replacement and Residential Service & Replacement business types

Things to know

  • Use the marketing activity filters to exclude customers who received or engaged with emails/direct mail within a set time frame.

  • Target customers who engaged with a specific campaign or any campaign during a defined period.

Create a marketing activity segment

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. In the side menu, go to Audiences > Retention Segments.

  3. On the Retention Segments screen, click +Create Segment. 

  4. On the Create Segment pop-up that opens, enter a unique Segment Name with at least two characters, then click Create. 

  5. On the Segment Builder screen that opens, click Attributes about something. 

  6. From the Select entity dropdown, select Marketing Activity.

  7. Specify if you want to add the marketing activity attribute of Email or Direct Mail. 

  8. Add the Filters for the marketing activity segment. You can change the condition as needed. You can create filters such as track the marketing activity of customers on email campaigns, where the email was sent at least once in the last 10 days in the past.

  9. When you add the filters, a summary of the attribute effective dates appear. 

  10. When finished, click Save. This saves the criteria and calculates the Reach for the segment.
