Tenant naming and short name in NetSuite

Prev Next

Overview

Each tenant in the SuiteApp can be assigned a Short Name to improve clarity and traceability across both systems. This Short Name appears on the tenant record and is automatically applied to synced transactions to help identify their origin.

Who uses this feature

  • Administrators, office employees, managers, accountants, and bookkeepers

  • Applies to all business types

  • Applies to all trades

Feature configuration

  • This feature is currently in Private Preview and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change.

Key behavior

  • The Short Name is configured during tenant setup in the SuiteApp.

  • When a transaction syncs from ServiceTitan to NetSuite, the Short Name is added as a prefix to the transaction number.

Example

If a tenant is created for the Alabama region with a Short Name of ALB, an invoice synced from that tenant might appear in NetSuite as ALB-3883-1.

This approach provides clear visibility into which tenant generated each transaction, which is especially useful in multi-tenant environments.
