Scheduling Pro best practices

Overview

Scheduling Pro can be a powerful tool for your business to drive online bookings, but it is only as effective as your ability to get it in front of your customers. Follow these important tips for ensuring your scheduler is easily accessible on your website.

Who uses this feature

  • Administrators, office employees, and managers

  • Primarily benefits Residential Service and Replacement

Feature configuration

  • To get started with Scheduling Pro, request a demo on our Pro Products page, or reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Pro Account Manager.

Use simple, high contrast buttons throughout your website

To ensure customers find your online booking experience, make sure that your scheduler can be accessed with a single click anywhere on your website.

  • Ensure buttons marked with clear language such as Book Now, Book Online, or Schedule Service are always accessible in your website header so that customers always have the option to book regardless of what section of your site they’re visiting.

  • Place additional hooks throughout your pages in the body and footer sections of your site as well. Frequent reminders to book can help remind customers that the option is available as they explore your site’s content.

Use multiple schedulers only where appropriate

You can create multiple schedulers for different needs and different trades and services. However, we recommend against creating trade-specific schedulers on each page if it isn’t necessary.

For example, a customer could end up on the wrong page and abandon their scheduler session if they do not find the service they are looking for, such as an electrical-only scheduler for a company that does HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services. In these situations, direct links may be more effective.

Avoid extra clicks to reach the scheduler

Follow Scheduling Pro’s recommended install instructions to ensure that the scheduler is directly launched as soon as your Book Online button is clicked. We don’t recommend adding an additional dedicated booking landing page where the user has to click Book Online, adding more clicks and confusion to the experience.

If you have concerns about scripting, marketing attribution, and other workflows around your scheduler that push you towards having a separate landing page for booking, please contact your Pro Product specialist or the Scheduling Pro team at schedulingpro@servicetitan.com for more assistance. All of these should be possible without a landing page.

Ensure the scheduler is both installed on your site properly and enabled on Google

If you’re having trouble with the scheduler scripting not working on your site, consult our install instructions, making sure you have added both the main script and call-to-action to your site. Confirm that your website has been added to the list in Scheduler Details in self-onboarding as well.

Optimize for mobile users

Over two-thirds of recent Scheduling Pro bookings are created using mobile devices. Make sure that the mobile version of your site is easy to navigate and follows the same principles as your desktop version, presenting multiple options to open the scheduler on every page.

To better optimize your site for mobile users:

  • Make sure your main call-to-action is big, bold, and visible when a user lands on your site and not hidden behind a menu button.

  • Don’t overwhelm your users with too much content on the landing page view. Assume most of your visitors are interested in getting help as soon as possible and give them the clearest and quickest path to booking with you.

Use direct links to provide a quicker way to book

With the Direct Link Builder, you can create custom direct links that automatically open up the scheduler with certain options pre-selected. This can be a great way to reduce the clicks-to-book for your customers when you provide them with this link through email or SMS campaigns. For more information, see Market your scheduler.
