You can also view your plan as a Gantt chart, so you can visualize your progress chronologically. Built directly into the project record, Project Plan ensures you can keep all of your organization in one place. --- ### #### Who uses this feature - Administrators, managers, and accountants - Primarily for Residential Construction and Commercial Construction business types #### Feature configuration - Account configuration is required to use this feature. Click the arrow next to its name to open the group and see the tasks, jobs, and subgroups inside it. - Groups, tasks, and jobs can be moved and reordered by dragging and dropping them. Reordering requires dropping the item exactly where the cursor is. - You can't delete a group if it has any subgroups, tasks, or jobs inside it. - If you'd like to use budget codes with your project plans, see [Budget Codes overview](/v1/docs/budget-codes-overview). ## Build a project plan A project plan is made up of headers called groups. Each group is then made up of tasks and jobs representing the work that needs to be completed for that phase of the project. You can also create subgroups with their own tasks and jobs. To create a project plan: 1. Go to the project you want to make a plan for. 2. In the side panel, click **Project Plan**. Any jobs or tasks that have already been created for this project are populated. ![Project management dashboard displaying tasks, assignments, and project status for construction.](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/project-plan-overview-image-znug5s6m.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T16%3A19%3A12Z&se=2026-10-27T17%3A19%3A12Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=t4CHU4IILsKKJH9ZYqiujtWDLdE7Xn3vK46vYGKQ%2Frg%3D) > [!NOTE] > **Note:** If you don't see the *Project Plan* section, make sure it’s marked as *Visible* in Project Type Settings. 3.
