Pre-Onboarding Guide
Pricebook Prep
For customers who have not purchased Pricebook Pro — ensure your existing pricebook content is ready to be migrated into ServiceTitan.
This guide helps you prepare your existing pricebook content for migration into ServiceTitan. If you have purchased Pricebook Pro, please reach out to your contact who signed you up for that instead.
Pricebook is consistently one of the most time-consuming components of implementing ServiceTitan. A small investment of time up front can save a significant amount of time down the road.
📌 A note on Pricebook images: Images may not export from your existing system. Most customers do not have images in their pricebook before Go Live. Priority should be building out the content — images are better added manually in ServiceTitan after Go Live.

Pricebook Terminology & Best Practices
Key fields, definitions, and rules to follow when preparing your pricebook for import into ServiceTitan.
| Term | Definition & Best Practice |
|---|---|
| Category | A label that allows you to group similar products and services. |
| Code | A code or SKU is a number (or alphanumeric sequence) used to differentiate products and track inventory. ⚠ IMPORTANT
|
| Name | Names help you differentiate and identify services and products. They are often more descriptive than codes but shorter than a full description. |
| Description | Used to outline the details and value of the services and products you are selling. Unlike codes and names, descriptions can be more lengthy — but it's a good idea to avoid multiple paragraphs. |
| Price | What your customers pay for the product or service. |
| Vendor Cost (Materials & Equipment) | What you pay your vendor for purchasing the material or equipment — before marking it up to sell to your customers. |
| Type | Is this a service, material, or equipment? This helps organize your content once moved into ServiceTitan. For example, service fees are often labeled as services. ServiceMaterialEquipment |
| Additional Info | If you want to include additional information you consider important, you can add more columns to the template. |
