Add modifiers to dynamic pricing rule

Overview

Modifiers allow you to customize Dynamic Pricing rules based on specific conditions like add-ons, after-hours work, or different levels of effort. You can easily apply these adjustments to fine-tune your service pricing.

Add modifiers

To add modifiers to the dynamic pricing rule:

1. Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook .

2. In the side panel, go to Pricing Builder.
   

3. On the Dynamic Pricing screen that opens:

   1. Click More> Edit to edit the existing rule,

   2. Or, click Create Rule to create a new dynamic pricing rule.

4. Go to Review & Add Modifiers tab and select a modifier for the pricing rule:

   • Add-on: Apply discounts when a service is added onto another service in an estimate or invoice.

   • After Hours: Use separate rate calculations for work done outside regular business hours, such as higher technician pay for late-night jobs.

   • Price Level: Add a fixed amount or percentage to the base price for services requiring extra effort, such as moving heavy items. Technicians can select an appropriate price level on-site.

   • Rounding: Choose how prices are rounded—nearest dollar, ten, or hundred—for cleaner pricing.

Add-on

Set rules on how to modify pricing when the service is an add-on to another service.

1. On the Review & Add Modifiers section, click Add-On.
   

2. Choose a discount method:

   • $: Enter a flat dollar amount to deduct from the add-on service price.

   • %: Enter a percentage to deduct from the base price.

   • : Modify a service’s billable hours:

     • In the to field, enter the exact number of billable hours to match.

     • In the reduce by field, enter the adjusted number of hours.

       Note: Only services with an exact match will use this adjustment.

3. Click Add another to create more billable hour rules.
   

4. When finished, click Save.

After Hours

Set multiple after-hours periods by weekday and holiday to reflect times outside your company’s regular business hours.

Tip: Only one after-hours modifier is applied per service in ServiceTitan.

1. In the Review & Add Modifiers section, click After Hours.
   

2. Add the Rule Name.

3. In the If Scheduled Start Time field, enter the time your after-hours start and end.

4. Add Additional Conditions: 
   

   1. -: No additional condition needs to be met.

   2. and: All selected conditions must be met.

   3. or: At least one selected condition must be met.

5. In the If Day of the week field, select the appropriate day of the week.

6. In the If Date field, select specific holidays to include.

7. In the Then Add Charge, from the dropdown, choose to Add Charge or Increase Billable Rate to set the price adjustment:

   1. Choose $ for a fixed fee,

   2. Or, % for a percentage increase.
      

8. When finished, click Save.

Price Level

Set price levels to quickly modify a base price.

1. In the Review & Add Modifiers section, click Price Level.
   

2. Select $ to modify your base price by a flat amount or % to modify by a percentage.

3. In the Level 2 field, enter the amount to adjust your base price for that level.

4. Click + Add another one to add price levels. 
   

5. When you’re done, click Save.

Rounding

Set prices calculated with numbers rounded to the nearest dollar, tens, or hundreds of dollars

1. In the Review & Add Modifiers section, click Rounding.
   

2. Choose a rounding method: Round Up or Round Down.

3. Select the rounding amount from the dropdown (nearest $1, $10, or $100).

4. (Required) Check the box to acknowledge that membership pricing may affect the calculation and change the discount from its original value.
   

5. When finished, click Save.

You can click Delete to remove price levels. Click Deactivate to stop applying the modifier and reactivate it later if needed.
