# Why can’t I add material from my pricebook to the point of sale entry?

## Problem

The material is not associated with a category. It needs to be linked to a category that is also linked to your POS location.

### Add a category to your material item

1. Firstly, find out which categories are assigned to your POS Location. This step is crucial to know where to assign your material.
2. 3. In the side menu, select **Invoicing > POS Locations**.
4. Review the categories listed for your POS location. You need to know these categories to proceed.
5. Go to the navigation bar and click **Pricebook**.
6. In the side panel, select **Pricebook > Materials.**
7. Search for the material you need.
8. 9. In the material details window that opens, scroll down to the *Categories* field.
10. Assign the material to one of the categories selected in your *POS Location* settings.
11. Save your changes. Make sure the material is now correctly linked to a category.
12. Go back to your *POS* *Locations* screen and add the material again.
