Overview
Use the audit trail on customer and location records to review recent actions taken by office employees. The audit trail includes who, what, and when changes were made. This provides you with a historical view that increases transparency, accountability, and confidence in your data management processes.

Feature configuration
The View customer and View location permissions are required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.
Things to know
For customer records, the audit trail includes:
Changes to the name, customer type, address, and payment terms.
Addition or removal of tags, notes, attachments, photos, videos, or locations.
Deactivation events.
For location records, the audit trail includes:
Changes to the name, tax zone, preferred technician, and timezone.
Addition or removal of tags, notes, attachments, photos, or videos.
Deactivation events.
Open the audit trail on a customer or location record
Search for and open the customer or location record for which you want to view a history of changes.
In the left side menu, click Audit Trail.

View the audit trail on a customer or location record
At the top of the audit trail, you see when the record was created, who last modified the record, and the date and time the record was last modified.
The audit trail log shows a detailed history of each change made in reverse chronological order. The log includes:
The username of the employee who made the change
The name of the field that changed
The date and time the change was made
The previous value of the field before it was changed
The new value of the field after it was changed

Filter the audit trail by date and username
To filter by date:
On the Audit Trail screen, click the Calendar
dropdown.In the menu that opens, you can:
Enter a start date and end date to see changes made within that date range.
Click Today to see any changes made today.
Use the calendar to find and select a start date and end date.
After you’ve chosen a date or date range, click Apply.

Note: To clear your filter selection, click the Calendar
dropdown again and select Clear.
To filter by employee username:
On the Audit Trail screen, click the Username dropdown.
In the menu that opens, search for and select the employee or employees you want to view.
When finished, click Apply to set the filter.
