Use SMS invoice payment links

Overview

With Online Payments, you can add a payment link to the invoice emails that you send to customers to review their invoice and make a credit card or ACH payment. In addition to email, you can also send your customers payment links for invoices over SMS.

Who uses this feature

  • Administrators, office employees, managers, accountants, bookkeepers, technicians, dispatchers, and customer service representatives (CSRs)

  • Applies to all business types

Feature configuration

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

  • The Enable Invoice SMS Text Link permission is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

Things to know

  • To use SMS payment links, you must have a default number set up in ServiceTitan and register your business for SMS delivery.

  • Sending SMS payment links for membership payments or statement payments is not available at this time.

  • SMS payment links can only be sent to customer numbers saved as Mobile .

Set up SMS invoice payment links

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear. .

  2. In the side panel, go to Invoicing > Online Payments.

  3. From the Enable Payment Options section, turn on SMS invoice links.        

    1. If you want office employees to use SMS payment links, click Enable sending invoice links in desktop via ServiceTitan Office.

    2. If you want technicians to use SMS payment links, click Enable sending email invoice links in Mobile and then click Also enable sending SMS invoice links via Mobile. 

  4. Once SMS invoice links are enabled, an SMS Text Message Preview appears in the Credit Card and ACH tabs.         

    Note: The preview text can't be changed to ensure your SMS messages are compliant and their delivery to your customers is successful.

  5. When finished, click Save. 

Send SMS invoice payment links from the office

  1. Find the invoice you want to send an SMS payment link for.        

    Note: SMS payment links for membership payments or statement payments are not available at this time.

  2. Click SMS Invoice. The SMS Text Invoice Link screen opens. 

  3. Choose a recipient by clicking an existing number or click Use a New Number and enter the number's information.         

    Tip: Click Save to Customer Record or Save to Location Record to save this number for future use.

  4. When finished, click Send. The customer has now been texted a link where they can submit payments for the invoice. 

Send SMS invoice payment links from mobile

  1. Tap Invoice for the job that you want to send the invoice link for.

  2. Tap the Actions dropdown. 

  3. Tap Text Invoice. 

  4. Choose a recipient by tapping an existing number or tap Use a New Number and enter the number's information.        

    Tip: Tap Save to Customer Record or Save to Location Record to save this number for future use.

  5. When finished, tap Send. The customer has now been texted a link where they can submit payments for the invoice.
