Problem
Phones Pro users can't add contacts that are visible to the entire company which creates an issue with effective communication and collaboration.
Solution
Provide a template with company-shared contacts
To add contacts that are visible and searchable for every Phones Pro user, you need to provide a template with all the names and numbers and any additional details you want.
When you have filled out this template, upload the Excel file by following this process:
Tip: It can take up to 24 hours for the contacts to appear when they have been uploaded.
Login to Dialpad Admin Settings at Dialpad.com/settings.
Select the My Company option at the top left.
Click Shared Contacts.
If you want to view the company contact template, click Download CSV template.Click Upload CSV.
Note: Company contacts must contain at least a first name, last name, and phone number. Additional fields are optional.
FAQ
What if we don't know the contacts' email or if there's no company associated?
That's fine! Leave any column blank.
If a contact changes their number can we edit it?
New information can be added to existing contacts as well using the same template. There is no way to delete existing shared contacts.
Should we upload our customers as Phones Pro contacts?
No, it is highly recommended that tenants do not upload ServiceTitan customers as contacts in Dialpad.
We want to be able to call some employees who are not in Phones Pro but don't want to add them. Is this possible?
Yes! This is the ideal use case for the shared company contacts. Technicians and other staff who may or may not have ServiceTitan profiles but do not have a Phones Pro seat and vendors can all be uploaded without being added as a seat.
How much does it cost?
Nothing! Tenants can upload contacts for free. There is only up to a 24-hour turnaround.
I don't see any of my new contacts in the directory. Where are they?
The directory only shows Phones Pro users. Search for new contacts to find them.
