Troubleshoot Headphone Jack Dynamo Reader for ServiceTitan Mobile

Overview

Here are the common troubleshooting solutions to fix swiper issues.

Remember: If you can't get a successful swipe, you can always manually enter the card (or take a picture).

Turn the volume all the way up (most common issue)

After you insert the swiper, make sure the volume on your mobile device is turned all the way up. You will want to turn the volume all the way up and close all other apps on your tablet before using the swiper.

Do not swipe during a phone call

The card reader will not work if the audio on the device is being used elsewhere. For example, you cannot swipe a card during a phone call.

Disable Bluetooth

Try disabling Bluetooth on the device. When Bluetooth is enabled, it may prevent the audio jack from transmitting sound (this means the swiper will not work). Turn off Bluetooth by going to Settings > Bluetooth.

Restart your mobile device

If you haven't already, try restarting your phone or tablet.

Disable Siri (Apple products only)

If you are using an Apple device, you may need to turn off Voice Dial (Siri). You'll need to set a passcode first, if you haven't done so already.

Once you have your passcode, go to Settings > Touch ID and Passcode > Voice Dial. Turn off Voice Dial.

Note:

  • Music Voice Control is always on by default (you cannot turn this off).

  • If you are using an older device, or if you haven't set a passcode on your account, voice control may already be turned off.
