Timesheet Exception: Overtime Alert report

Overview

The Overtime Alert report identifies all overtime timesheet events so you can manage labor costs and flag incidents of time clock mismanagement. You can also schedule the report so you're notified of any overtime activity on a regular basis.


Who uses this feature

  • Administrators and managers

Run report

Before running your report, set filters to get the most relevant information for your needs:

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Reports. In the side menu, click All Reports.

  2. Click Timesheet Exception: Overtime Alert to open it.        

    Tip: In the search field, enter a few letters from the report title for quick access.

  3. Click the From - To field to set a range of dates to run the report on. You can:

  4. Use the calendar to select a specific date range and then click ApplyDate range selection from July 7 to July 14, 2023, with calendar view.

    1. Use the left menu to select a preset date range:                

      1. Today: From 12:00 AM to the current time.

      2. Yesterday: Previous day, from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM.

      3. This Week: From Monday through Sunday of the current week.

      4. Week to Date: From Monday through the current date of the current week.

      5. Last 7 Days: Previous seven days, including today.

      6. Last 14 Days: Previous 14 days, including today.

      7. Last 30 Days: Previous 30 days, including today.

      8. Month to Date: From the first of the current month to the current day.

      9. Last Month: Entire month before the current month. For example, if the date is February 5, the entire month of January.

      10. Last 90 Days: Previous 90 days, including today.

      11. This Quarter: Current quarter, including future dates. For example, if the date is April 25, from April 1 - June 30.

      12. Last Quarter: Entire quarter before the current quarter. For example, if the date is April 25, from January 1 - March 31.

      13. Quarter to Date: From the first day of the current quarter to the current day.

      14. Year to Date: From January 1 of the current year to the current day.

      15. Last 365 Days: Previous 365 days, including today.

      16. Last Year: From January 1 of the previous year to December 31.

  5. In the Business Unit dropdown, select the employee business units (BUs) you want to report on.        

    Note: By default, the report runs for all BUs. You can filter your report by business units or business unit categories:

    1. Click the Employee Business Unit dropdown to select individual BUs.

    2. To report on BU categories, click Filter , select the BU categories you want to include, and click Filter.

  6. From the Employees dropdown, select which employees you want to include in the report.        

    Note: If you add BU filters, make sure the employees you select are in the filtered BUs.

  7. When you're done setting your filters, click Run Report.

Read report results

The report lists all overtime events based on the filters you set. The report includes the following columns:

  • Name—Name of the employee

  • Business Unit—BU assigned to the employee

  • Timesheet Activity Date—Date of the timesheet event

  • Timesheet Activity—Timesheet event type

  • Start Time—Time the employee clocked into the activity

  • End Time—Time the employee clocked out of the activity

  • Duration (Decimal)—Duration in hours of the activity

  • Regular Time—Number of regular paid hours within the duration

  • Overtime—Number of overtime hours within the duration Timesheet data for Adam in plumbing installation with activity dates and hours worked.

Customize and schedule the report

For further customization, you can also arrange and filter your results.

You can also schedule the report to be delivered by email on a regular basis.
