Send media to technicians from the Dispatch Board

Overview

You can add images, videos, and files to individual messages with technicians on the Dispatch Board. Technicians can also reply with images, videos, and files as they normally would in an MMS conversation. This enables technicians to better illustrate situations encountered in the field and allows dispatchers to provide more contextually accurate responses.

Feature configuration

  • The Send message permission is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

Things to know

  • Supported file types include JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, MP3, MP4, MPEG, GIF, TXT, and PDF.

  • The file size limit is two megabytes due to telecom carrier restrictions. Files larger than two megabytes can't be sent. To meet this limit, some images and videos may appear at reduced quality when viewed from the office in Dispatch Messaging.

  • GIFs do not autoplay within the message thread on the Dispatch Board. To play a GIF, click it to open it in a larger window.

  • Technicians receive and reply to messages on their mobile devices as SMS or MMS messages, the same way they do outside of ServiceTitan.

  • Technician messaging is currently only available on the Daily Board.

Send media from the office

  1. Click Messages  at the top of the Daily Dispatch Board.

  2. Open the individual message thread with the technician or click New message    to search for and select the technician. Any previous messages with the selected technician appear.

  3. Click File Upload  then find and select the media you want to send.

  4. Your attached media is shown directly above the Type your message field. When you're ready, click Send .A chat interface showing messages between users, with a send button highlighted.

    Note: Clicking Attach this message to the technician's current job only attaches SMS text messages to the technician's current job. It does not attach MMS media messages to the job.

Receive media from technicians

When technicians respond to the office, they can also send media.
