The wizard calculates prices based on the billing rates, mark-ups, surcharges, and member discounts that you set, saving you time when setting up your pricebook. Also, the Pricebook Setup Wizard takes the guesswork out of pricing, helping you maximize profitability. --- ### #### Who uses this feature - Administrators and managers #### Feature configuration - Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact your success or implementation manager for details. ## Things to know - The Price Setup Wizard lets you set flat-rate pricing for your service and equipment items—costs, labor, and surcharges are bundled under a single price. - You can edit prices for individual items after you run the wizard. - If you have [inventory tracking](/roofing/docs/enable-inventory-tracking-for-equipment-and-material-1) enabled, material and equipment costs are calculated using costs from the Primary Vendor for that item. Account configuration is required to use inventory tracking. Please contact your success or implementation manager for details. - [Material mark-ups](/roofing/docs/create-a-dynamic-pricing-rule#step-3-markup) settings are also used to mark up equipment costs. - If a customer’s membership includes a discount, the discount is applied to the standard price. If the membership discounted price and the member price as calculated by the Wizard are different, the lesser price is used on the invoice or estimate. - For pricing calculations, see [Understand Price Setup Wizard calculations](/roofing/docs/understand-price-setup-wizard-calculations). ## Prepare your pricebook Before you use the Price Setup Wizard, make sure to do the following: - [Add sold hours](/roofing/docs/add-sold-hours-to-pricebook-items) for items you want to set prices for - [Attach materials](/roofing/docs/attach-materials-to-services-or-equipment) to items you want to set prices for - [Set material markups](/roofing/docs/create-a-dynamic-pricing-rule#step-3-markup) ## Run the wizard To set prices: 1. Go to the navigation bar and click **Pricebook**. 2. In the side menu, click **Price Setup**. Under *Services*, select the categories or subcategories you want to set prices for. > [!NOTE] > **Note:** When you select a category, any current price settings display in the *PRICEBOOK MODIFIER* section. > [!TIP] > **Tip:** Select **Select All** to set prices for all items. In the *PRICEBOOK MODIFIER* section, under *Primary*, enter pricing rules for items within the selected categories: 1. **Billable Rate**—Amount charged per hour for labor. Multiplied by the number of sold hours for a item when calculating prices. 2. **Surcharge ($)**—Flat fee added to the item price. For example, a dispatch fee. 3. **Surcharge (%)**—Percent of the item price added as a surcharge. 4. **Member Discount**—Percent discount applied for jobs at service locations with a membership 5. Labor only 2. Labor and service 3. Labor, service, and surcharges > [!NOTE] > **Note:** Service is material and equipment costs including markups. 6. Under *Add On*, enter pricing rules for when the item is an add on for another item on an estimate or invoice. 7. Under *CURRENT PRICING* are the standard price, member price, standard add-on price, and the member add-on price currently used in your pricebook. The [Pricebook History screen](/roofing/docs/price-setup-wizard-access-your-pricebook-history) opens. ## --- ### FAQ #### Why do Pricebook materials show incorrect prices even with the right markup? Markups only affect invoices and purchase orders (POs), not the base price shown in Pricebook. If pricing looks incorrect, it’s possible the Price Setup Wizard was used and changed the item’s base price. You can check the [pricebook history](/roofing/docs/price-setup-wizard-access-your-pricebook-history) to confirm. Use the wizard to make any needed changes, then review the item in the Pricebook to confirm the correct pricing is shown.
