Overview
You can manage proposal templates by duplicating, activating or deactivating them, and importing or downloading as needed. This makes it easier to keep templates organized and up to date. You can quickly share templates across teams or adjust them for different use cases. Managing templates helps ensure your proposals stay consistent and easy to use in the field.
Feature configuration
The Edit Estimates permission is required to edit estimate templates. Please contact the account administrator on your team.
Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.
Manage proposal templates
Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.
In the side menu, click Templates.
In your template library that opens, click the Proposal Templates tab to view a table of your proposal templates.
Click Filters to apply filters to find specific proposal templates. For example, filter proposal templates by the TI Proposals and Manually Created Proposals options.

To manage an estimate template, click More
and select an item from the menu: View/Edit Details: Open and edit the proposal template details.
Duplicate: Create a copy of the proposal template.
Revert to Draft: Temporarily hide the proposal template from view in ServiceTitan Mobile for additional editing.
Deactivate: Remove the proposal template from use.
Note: Use the More
menu to activate a deactivated template.
Bulk activate or deactivate proposal templates
Select items you want to bulk update.
Click Deactivate or Activate.

In the window that opens, click Deactivate.

Download and import proposal templates
If you already have templates available, they are downloaded in the file. If not, you get an empty template.
To download the proposal template:
Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.
In the side menu, click Templates > Proposal Templates.
Click Create and select Download Templates.

The proposal template file is downloaded to your computer with the following tabs:
Proposal Templates: General information about proposal templates:
ID: The internal ID is used to find the template that already exists and is automatically assigned by the system. If you want to add a new template, the ID column must be left blank.
Name: Unique proposal template display name.
Summary: Proposal template summary.
Category ID: Comma-separated categories of the proposal template. Available in the URL when editing the category in pricebook.
Category Names: Comma-separated categories of the proposal template.
Business Unit: Business unit name of the proposal template.
Proposal Type ID: Assign the proposal type in the Proposal Type ID column which you can find in the Proposal Type tab.
Proposal Type Name: Name of the proposal type of the template, for example, good, better, or best.
Active: Determines if the proposal template is active or inactive.
Estimate Templates: General information about estimate templates:
ID: The internal ID is used to find the template that already exists and is automatically assigned by the system. If you want to add a new template, the ID column must be left blank.
Name: Unique estimate template display name.
Internal Name: Unique estimate template internal name.
Summary: Estimate template summary.
Type: Type of the estimate template: dynamic or static.
Tip: We recommend using the Dynamic type as it is taken from Pricebook to avoid making updates to the items in templates whenever changes occur. Updates in Pricebook will also be reflected in templates.
Active: Determines if the estimate template is active or inactive.
Estimate Template Items: Services, material, or equipment available in the Estimate Template available in pricebook:
Estimate Template ID: You need the estimate template ID or name to assign pricebook items to estimate templates.
Estimate Template Name: Unique display name of the estimate template.
ID: The ID of the estimate template and estimate item link. It's automatically generated by the system and if it is available, it is linked to the item template.
SKU ID: SKU ID of the corresponding line item.
Code: Unique SKU code of the corresponding line item.
Name: Display name of the corresponding line item.
Description: Description of the corresponding line item.
Quantity: Item quantity in the estimate template.
Unit Cost: Unit cost of the item.
Unit Price: Unit price of the item.
Business Unit: Business unit name of the item.
Chargeable: If the item is chargeable or not.
Note: This column is available only for materials. If 0, the material won't be chargeable. If 1, it will be chargeable.
Taxable: If the item is taxable or not. If 0, the item won't be taxable. If 1, the item will be taxable.
Add On: If the item is Add on or not. If 0, the item won't be an add on. If 1, the item will be an add on.
Active: Determines if the item or template connection is active or not. If 1, the item is added to the template, and if 0, the item is removed from the template.
Note: We will support Item groups in future releases.
Proposal Types: You can only view this tab.
Note: You can't change or add new proposal types. This tab is used to export and provide information on the existing ones so that it can be used to assign proposal types to templates through import or export.
Proposal Type ID: Copy this column and paste it into proposal templates to assign the corresponding type.
Proposal Type Name: Unique name of the proposal type.
Proposal Type: Type of the proposal type, for example, additive or progressive.
Proposal Type Option ID: Assign a Proposal Type option to the estimate, for example, assign a Good type from Good, Better, or Best options to a template.
Proposal Type Option Name: Name of the proposal type option.
Proposal Type Option Order: Order of the proposal type option in the proposal type, for example, numerical ordering.
Active: Determines if the proposal type is active or inactive.
Assignments: Estimate templates linked or added to proposal templates, consolidating all relevant information from other tabs and establishing connections between them.
Proposal Template ID: If you want to link template items, you need to copy and paste from other tabs. If you want to create a new template, you need to leave the Proposal Template ID column blank.
Proposal Template Name: Unique name of the proposal template.
Estimate Template ID: If you want to link template items, you need to copy and paste from other tabs. If you want to create a new template, you need to leave the Estimate Template ID column blank.
Estimate Template Name: Unique name of the estimate template.
Proposal Type Option Name: The assigned proposal type option name of the estimate template, for example, good.
Proposal Type Option ID: You need to fill out the proposal type option ID to assign a type.
Active: Determines if the assignment is active or not. The link between the estimate and proposal templates determines whether the estimate template is associated with a proposal template.
To import proposal templates:
Click Create and select Import Templates.

Select a file from your computer.
A notification confirms the proposal template was successfully imported.
Note: If the import isn't successful, you get a document with the list of errors.
