Inventory permissions for office employees and technicians

Overview

Assigning permissions to your employees and technicians allows you to manage your inventory more efficiently. You can control who can view and edit your inventory through employee permissions so you can protect potentially sensitive pricebook details.


Who uses this feature

  • Administrators and managers

  • Applies to all business types

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

Employee permissions

To change an individual employee's purchasing and inventory permissions:

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click SettingsA simple icon representing a settings gear. .

  2. From the side menu, select People > Employees.

  3. On the Employees screen that opens, select the employee whose permissions you want to set and click Edit.A cursor clicking the Edit button to edit the employee record.

  4. On the Edit Employee screen that opens, click the Permissions tab.A cursor clicking the Permission tab.

  5. Go to Purchasing & Inventory.The Purchasing & Inventory settings screen.

Technician permissions

To change an individual technician's purchasing and inventory permissions:

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click SettingsA simple icon representing a settings gear. .

  2. From the side menu, select People > Technicians.

  3. On the Technicians screen that opens, select the technician whose permissions you want to set and click Edit.

  4. On the Edit Technician screen that opens, click the Permissions tab.

  5. Go to Purchasing & Inventory.
