This helps create accurate Profit & Loss (P&L) reports when using ServiceTitan with QuickBooks. ## Problem Payroll data exports to customer records instead of job locations. This creates separate customer entries in QuickBooks. P&L reports require manual combining of both entries for accurate totals. You want to instead have payroll information tied to Location Records to eliminate the manual steps. ## Solution ### Workflow Summary Adjust payroll alignment by modifying the MasterPay Excel file before importing to QuickBooks. Use the Location Name column to match payroll with job locations. ### Manually import MasterPay file to QuickBooks 1. Go to **Reports** in the main navigation menu. 2. Open the **Master Pay File** report. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/961862ab-d0f2-4d91-bb62-a62ee8184eff/Images/Documentation/how-can-we-ensure-that-payroll-data-in-the-masterpay-report-is-aligned-with-job-locations-rather-than-customer-records-for-accurate-pl-reporting-image-c0fjmtpy.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T18%3A47%3A46Z&se=2026-11-01T19%3A47%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=FpDAYd9dB2IhA1Z3mKJ8tKuxXV0UKB3CnoVoDPXgWjg%3D) 3. Verify that the **Location Name** column appears in the report. If it’s not in the report: 1. Click **Edit Report**. 2. On the *Edit Report* screen that opens, select **Location Name**. 3. You can select or deselect columns you want to appear on the report here as well. 4. When you’re finished, click **Apply**. 5. If you added or removed columns, click **Run Report** to run the report again with the new columns included. 4. When the report has the *Location Name* column included, click **Export** to export the report as an *MS Excel (XLSX)* file. 5. Open the Excel version of the report on your computer. 6. Review the Location Name column data before importing to QuickBooks. 7. Adjust payroll entries in the Excel file to match job locations. 8. Import the modified MasterPay file to QuickBooks. 9. Verify payroll entries align with job locations in QuickBooks. > **Note:** Invoices, payments, bills, and returns export directly to QuickBooks from ServiceTitan.
