Overview
Use visualization modules to show a graphical representation of key performance indicators (KPIs) on custom dashboards. You can create multiple styles of charts to get a high-level view of your business performance at a glance.

Feature configuration
Most new visualization capabilities, including multi-level grouping, target and reference lines, value display modes, and time-series bar charts, are automatically available. Boolean KPI visualization sub-capabilities (average and target lines on boolean KPIs, multi-grouping for boolean KPIs, date-based aggregation for boolean KPIs, and drill-ins) require account configuration. Have an administrator contact Support or your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to enable these features.

Visualization types
Custom dashboards support multiple visualization types, giving you flexibility in how you display your business metrics. Types include:
Donut with legend and totals: A pie chart that breaks down a KPI by another KPI with the total of the second KPI in the center. For example, a chart that shows the sum of Sold estimates and the percentage of the total credited to each Sold by technician.

Simple bar chart: A bar chart that breaks down a KPI by another KPI. For example, a module that shows the sum of sold estimate subtotals for each Sold by technician.

Multiple bar chart: A bar chart that breaks down multiple KPIs by one dimension. For example, a module that shows the averages of sold estimate subtotals, revenue, and costs for each Sold by technician.

Horizontal Bars: The same as a simple bar chart except the bars are horizontal instead of vertical.

Stacked bar chart: A bar chart that groups data by two dimensions: a primary grouping on the X-axis and a secondary grouping that segments each bar by color. For example, a chart showing revenue by business unit with each bar segmented by job type. Supported on Simple Bar, Multiple Bar, and Horizontal Bar charts. Pie charts do not support multi-level grouping.

Time-series bar chart: A bar chart that visualizes a KPI over time using Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly time buckets. For example, a chart showing revenue trends over the past 12 months. Use this type to identify trends, seasonality, or performance changes directly on your dashboard.

Boolean KPI visualization: Native chart support for Yes/No KPIs such as Is Recall or Is Warranty across Bar, Multiple Bar, Pie, and Stacked Bar charts. The default aggregation counts "Yes" values; percentage view shows "Yes" values as a share of total. Requires account configuration. Contact Support or your CSM to enable.
Create a visualization module
While creating or editing a custom dashboard, click Add Module.
Under Module Type, click the dropdown and select Visualization.

Select the type of visualization you want to use.

An interactive example of the visualization opens.
Click Next.
Edit the module settings as needed:
Enter a name for your module in the Module Name field.
Select Hide module title row to hide the module name and filters from view on the dashboard.

Click the Select Template dropdown and select the report template you want to use.
Click the Select KPI dropdown and select the KPI you want to focus your report on. For example, to measure business unit (BU) job performance, select the BU name.

From the next Select KPI dropdown, select the KPI you want to measure. For example, if you select the BU name in the first dropdown, when you select Completed Revenue in the second dropdown, the visualization shows completed revenue by BU.
For Simple Bar, Multiple Bar, and Stacked Bar charts: To add a target or reference line, select Add Target Line or Add Average Line:
Average line: Automatically calculated from the selected KPI and rendered as a horizontal line across the chart.
Target line: A user-defined numeric value rendered as a dotted horizontal line. Enter the target value in the field provided.
To allow users to click a chart segment and view filtered underlying records, select Attach Drill-Ins. When enabled, clicking any bar, stacked segment, or data point opens a read-only table of the records that make up that segment. Dashboard-level filters and visualization filters are inherited automatically. Drill-in tables for entity-based KPIs (such as Job ID or Invoice ID) include hyperlinks to the individual records.
Note: Drill-ins on boolean KPI charts require account configuration. Contact Support or your CSM to enable.
From the Aggregation Method dropdown, select how you want to calculate the KPI in the visualization:
Count: Total number of entries
CountDistinct: Total number of unique entries
Sum: Sum of values
Average: Sum of values divided by the number of entries
Minimum: Smallest numerical value
Maximum: Largest numerical value
Note: Available options depend on the KPI. For example, Sum and Average are not available for date-based KPIs.
When you're finished, click Add. Or, if you're building a multiple bar chart and you want to add additional KPIs, click Add New and repeat the steps.

Edit a visualization module
Go to the navigation bar and click Dashboard.
Click the Modular Dashboard dropdown and select the dashboard with the module you want to edit.

Click Edit Dashboard.

Edit the visualization module as needed:
To edit the module name and KPIs, click Settings
in the module header.
To edit the default report filters, click Filter
. Note: Some date range and business unit filters are set by the dashboard’s custom filters and cannot be edited unless you exclude them from the custom filter. For details on how filters are applied to a report template, see the corresponding report template guide.
To delete the module, click Delete
.
When you're finished editing the module, click Save.
