Overview

When you finish counting the physical inventory, you're ready to enter the quantities in ServiceTitan and complete the inventory count.

Complete an inventory count

To complete a new inventory count or a recount:

  1. Do the following tasks if you haven't already:

    1. Create an inventory count.

    2. Print an inventory count list.

    3. Count your physical inventory and record quantities on the count list.

  2. Go to the navigation bar and click Inventory.

  3. In the side menu, click Inventory Counts.

  4. On the Inventory Counts screen that opens, click one of the following tabs:

    1. Pending: New inventory counts or recounts for which you need to enter quantities from a physical inventory count.

    2. In Progress: Inventory counts for which you entered quantities for some items and saved your progress to finish later.

  5. Click the inventory count that you want to complete.A cursor clicking the inventory count to complete.

    Tip: Use filters such as Inventory Locations and Count Type to narrow the list of inventory counts.

  6. On the Item Count screen that opens, click the Actions dropdown and select Edit.A cursor clicking the Actions dropdown and selecting Edit.

  7. Enter quantities in the Qty Counted column for each item in the count list.

    Note: Use the Enter key to move between cells.

  8. Click Save when you're finished or if you need to save your progress and finish later.

The count status changes to In Progress.

  1. Review the inventory quantities on hand and the quantities counted.

  3. If there are discrepancies in your inventory count, review them, then do one of the following steps:

    1. Adjust the quantity on hand: If you're sure the quantities on hand and the quantities counted are accurate, click Create Adjustment. The quantities on hand are updated in ServiceTitan to match the quantities counted.

    1. Recount inventory: To recount items that have discrepancies:

      a) Click the Actions dropdown, then select Recount All.

      b) On the Recount Items screen that opens, select a Recount Due Date, then click Recount.

      ServiceTitan creates a new count that includes only the items with discrepancies. The new count is a Recount type and is in Pending status.

      The current count's status changes to Completed and the items with discrepancies are marked as Recounted.

      c) To complete the recount, print the Recount count list, count the physical inventory, and complete the recount.
