Overview

Affirm is a financing provider that lets customers split the cost of a job into smaller monthly payments. Technicians see Affirm's as low as pricing on an estimate when the default financing provider doesn't have an eligible plan for that amount. Sharing Affirm financing gives customers another way to say yes to the job.

Who uses this feature

  • Technicians

  • Residential Service and Replacement business types and Residential Construction business types

  • Applies to all trades

Feature configuration

Things to know

  • Affirm financing is available for accounts in the United States only.

  • If the estimate amount falls within the Affirm Estimate Range configured by your Administrator, and your default financing provider does not have an eligible plan for that amount, the estimate will display Affirm's "as low as" monthly pricing instead.

  • Tapping Learn More opens Affirm's hosted application experience in a browser window. The customer completes the application there, not directly in the Field Mobile App.

  • After the customer applies, you can track the status in Application Management, the same as with other financing providers.

Best practices

  • Confirm your default financing provider and Affirm Estimate Range are configured in Settings > Integrations & Financing before presenting estimates, so the correct as low as pricing appears automatically. For more, see Configure Affirm in Financing Settings.

  • Let the customer know they'll finish the Affirm application on their own screen after tapping Learn More, so they don't expect to complete it with you.

  • Check Application Management after the visit to confirm the customer completed their Affirm application.

Use cases

  • A technician presents a $1,500 estimate. The default financing provider has no plan in that range, so the estimate shows Affirm's as low as pricing instead.

  • The customer taps Learn More, opens Affirm's application in their phone's browser, and completes it while the technician moves on to close out the job.

View and share Affirm financing on an estimate

  1. Open your job and tap the Estimates tab.

  2. If you haven't done so already, select Affirm as your financing partner and add plan options to the estimate.

  3. Tap Present Proposal to present the estimate to the customer.

  4. After the customer chooses a plan, tap the following buttons below the plan and have the customer complete the steps for each:

  5. Learn More: Submit a prequalification request to apply for financing with Affirm. A browser window opens with Affirm's application experience. Have the customer complete the application on their own device or in this window.

  6. Accept and Sign Estimate: Accept the estimate as Sold and receive the customer's signature confirming the sale. For more, see Sell an estimate.

Note: The customer completes the application through Affirm's hosted experience, not directly in the Field Mobile App.

Manage a submitted Affirm Financing request in the Field Mobile App
