Committed costs not showing in job costing

Role: Administrator · Accounting/HR Specialist · Operations ManagerArea: Job Costing, Project Costing · All versions

Note: This article covers the legacy "Committed Costs in Job Costing" display feature, which Support enables on request. If your account has GL-Based Costing enabled (a gated, request-based feature that ties job and project costs directly to your General Ledger), committed-cost data is handled differently through the GL engine. For GL-Based Costing accounts, see the GL-Based Costing articles instead.

What you're seeing

You want to see committed costs on your project job costing and job costing flyouts, but the feature doesn't appear on any of your project costing flyouts or job costing flyouts.

Why this happens

Reason 1

The feature isn't enabled for your account.

Committed Costs in Job Costing is a feature that has to be turned on for your account. If it hasn't been enabled, it won't appear on your costing flyouts.

Before you start

The View job costing permission must be granted for a user to view job costing.

How to fix it

This feature is enabled by ServiceTitan. Contact Support to turn it on.

1Ask Support to enable the feature

  1. Reach out to ServiceTitan Technical Support at go.servicetitan.com/ask.

  2. The agent confirms you have the permission for data changes enabled.

  3. The agent enables the Committed Costs in Job Costing feature for your account.

  4. You receive a follow-up email at the address provided, with the case number for your records.

✓ Done · Committed costs now appear on your projects and job costing flyouts.

Still not working?

Contact ServiceTitan Technical Support at go.servicetitan.com/ask with:

  • Confirmation that Committed Costs was enabled for your account (case number)

  • Whether you have the View job costing permission

  • The project or job where committed costs still aren't showing

  • A screenshot of the job costing flyout

  • Whether your account uses GL-Based Costing
